About the person, in first person

I'm Jorge Corona, and my pronouns are he/him/his. You can probably guess by now that I'm a filmmaker, writer, illustrator, animator and photographer—an all around visual storyteller.

I specialize in crafting comedy, documentary, and entertainment video and audio stories for the world's leading publications, the world's most creative film productions, and the world's leading New York University (and other leading institutions). My most recent short film, a comedy called Love Me Tenderizer that I wrote, directed and acted in, had its world premiere at the Academy Award-qualifying Austin Film Festival, followed by a run in festivals across the U.S. The comedy improv chops I developed at the Upright Citizen's Brigade and in the independent improv theater circuits in New York served me well on that one.

My client roster includes The X Factor, The Daily Texan, the Austin NPR affiliate KUT/KUTX, Texas Performing Arts, VICE Media Inc, Anonymous Content, The Huffington Post, Fusion, New York Magazine, The Verge, Lifehacker, Deadspin, Gizmodo, Jezebel, Kotaku, Make the Road NY, New York University, Vogue, and Nationswell.

My work has also been featured on Buzzfeed, The Dallas Morning News, Aol's video network, The Fusion Feed (TV), and the Dallas Observer. Éditions Nathan has also published my work in high schools across France and the francophone world.

Films I've worked on have premiered at SXSW, and some are available on Amazon. I've also done work on music videos for indie artists like Tei Shi and Wynter Gordon, and on various commercials including one for the great folks at the United States Postal Service.

My motion pictures has been recognized with top honors by the Associated College Press, by the late media columnist David Carr of the New York Times, by the North American Digital Media Awards, by Cinefestival San Antonio, and by my mom which is still nice.

I speak, read and write English, Spanish and French. I'm also highly familiar with Mexican culture; I was born and raised there.

Giving back and serving others is foundational to me. I've taught and mentored budding storytellers through Fusion's Rise Up, Be Heard program, and through mentorship in the Writer's Guild Initiative Helen Deutsch Writing Workshops.

Currently I'm developing short films and a couple of feature films while tackling freelance work. If you have a project or a room that could use a witty dialogist, an out-of-the-box thinker, a team-leading captain, a performance-oriented writer, or someone deeply versed in all aspects of visual storytelling, get in touch pronto.
